Canvas Angelic Fall

Incredible depiction of Lucifer's fall by Gustave Dore (1832–1883). One of fifty illustrations made for Paradise Lost, the epic poem by the 17th century English poet John Milton (1608 -1674). It illustrates a verse from the fourth book, in which Satan wanders around in Eden and tries to tempt Eve. Pertaining to Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"
