A beautiful and incredibly detailed map of east Sussex 1861 created by William Mudge (1762–1820) an English artillery officer and surveyor who was instrumental in the creation of the Ordnance Survey.

Centered around Brighton it shows hills, villages and train stations and is part of the set is the first systematic survey of England and Wales based on triangulation, inspired by the Cassini survey of France. Printed on quality, thick, matte paper.
