Shrouded in mystery the Tarot has held veneration for their archetypal significance in divinatory practices. According to some the tarot are the last surviving glyphs from the library of Alexandria others say they only emerged after playing cards came from the middle east and then started to be used in divination. In the 15th century, either way the images came to be regarded as a "bible of bibles", an esoteric repository of all the significant truths of creation.
